An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Sales Manager at our Guildford site. The main purpose of the position is to support the General Sales Manager to manage the New and Used Sales function and assuming full control of the department

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To assist the General Sales Manager in developing a Retail Sales strategy for Mercedes-Benz of Guildford
  • Managing New and Used Car Sales business, incorporating all the Company’s products and services and making decisions regarding the sales unit.
  • Achieving optimal utilisation of the market, a high level of customer satisfaction and high yields for the department in accordance with the Company management goals.
  • Co-ordinating and managing sales staff and representing Mercedes-Benz standards
  • Take responsibility for lead allocation
  • Ensure walk-ins are recorded on showroom log and Dealerweb
  • Review live leads on Dealerweb
  • Review volume of leads and offers made
  • Work with General Sales Manager to review conversions of sales people and implement plans where required
  • Take steps to increase market penetration in New and Used sales, in order to achieve budget
  • Plan, organise, direct, coach, lead and motivate the Sales Team taking steps to create a professional and customer focussed environment
  • To lead, develop and maintain an effective relationship with the Transaction Managers to jointly deliver the site unit targets.
  • Ensure the New and Used vehicle range is presented professionally in line with Mercedes-Benz guidelines
  • Ensure all leads are responded to with Sandown SLA
  • Ensure that all potential part exchanges are appraised in line with the company procedure
  • Deliver planned F&I penetration and income.
  • Ensure that all Sales Executive 121s are completed by the TM team, assisting where appropriate. Ensure sales training needs are met efficiently and are in line with operational requirements.

You will require:

  • A high level of attention to detail
  • A passion for customer satisfaction
  • An FCA accreditation
  • Knowledge of finance and related systems
  • Knowledge of insurance products
  • An understanding of car valuations and advanced negotiation skills
  • Experience in a management position.

Hours: 45 hours per week worked over 5 days between Monday to Saturday.

Company Car provided as part of the remuneration package.
