We are looking to recruit a fixed term Switchboard Operator for Sandown Mercedes-Benz, based at our Newfields site. The main responsibilities for this role are to provide an efficient and professional welcome for all persons who contact the dealership by telephone.

As a Switchboard Operator you will ensure that the following duties are performed to the highest standards:

  • To provide the first point of contact for all persons who get in touch with the dealership by telephone, creating confidence in the Company by ensuring the highest standard of courtesy and efficiency in customer contact and communication.
  • To answer incoming calls wherever possible within three rings and put through to the extension/take message/locate person concerned.
  • To be confident in the operation of a computerised switchboard and multiple call handling.
  • To achieve a missed calls target of 0%.
  • To build and develop an excellent rapport with the customer and internal departments, giving full potential for further/repeat business.
  • To liaise with inter-departmental staff where necessary and ensure the customer is kept informed without delay.
  • To contribute to the business and department, making recommendations for improvements to Manager
  • To implement Company policies and procedures and show the right attitude of enthusiasm, conduct and attendance.
  • To develop self by attending all training sessions, putting learning points into practice.

Key skills:          Excellent communication skills and a passion for customer satisfaction

Experience Required         Previous telephone experience required.

Hours: Wednesday – Friday: 12.30pm – 18.30pm

Saturdays on a rota basis
