Kia 7 Year Warranty

Peace of Mind with Sandown Kia
Kia’s 7‑year / 100,000‑mile warranty is one of the longest and most comprehensive in Europe, offering exceptional long‑term protection as standard on every new Kia. Fully transferable to future owners, it covers key components across petrol, hybrid, plug‑in hybrid and electric vehicles, with EVs also benefiting from a separate 8‑year battery warranty for added peace of mind. Designed to reduce maintenance costs, support reliability and boost resale value, Kia’s industry‑leading warranty reflects a genuine commitment to quality and customer confidence.
Kia’s 7-Year Warranty Explained
At Kia, all vehicles are designed with confidence and that confidence is backed with one of the most comprehensive warranties in the market. Kia's industry-leading 7-year warranty comes as standard with every new Kia, offering far more than the typical 3-year cover available elsewhere.
Choosing Kia means choosing long-term peace of mind, with benefits that truly make a difference:
7 years of reassurance as standard – Every Kia is backed by a full warranty from day one, at no extra cost
Comprehensive coverage – Protection against manufacturing and workmanship defects for up to 7 years
Lower cost of ownership – Reduced unexpected repair expenses over time
Higher resale value – A fully transferable warranty that adds lasting appeal for future owners
Europe-wide protection – Cover includes parts and labour, even when you’re travelling abroad
The 7-year warranty isn’t an optional extra - it’s included in the price of every vehicle. That means from the moment you drive away, you can enjoy complete confidence in your Kia, knowing you're protected for the journey ahead.
*Terms and exclusions apply.

Electric Car Warranty
Our 7-year or 100,000 mile car warranty offers the same comprehensive cover as standard to Electric Cars as it does our petrol, Hybrid, and Plug-In Hybrid vehicles. This includes protection for essential EV components such as the electric motor, gear drive unit (GDU), electric power control unit (EPCU), and the on-board charger (OBC).
Perhaps, most importantly, the EV battery pack is also covered under a separate 8-year warranty. Kia will carry out any repairs or replacements required for electric batteries that fall below 70% capacity within 8 years from the date of purchase.
Traction Battery Extended Warranty
Kia’s Traction Battery Extended Warranty gives you added peace of mind by protecting your vehicle’s high‑voltage battery - helping you drive with confidence for years to come.

Kia Warranty Benefits
At Sandown Kia, we’re proud to offer vehicles backed by one of the most comprehensive warranties available in Europe.
1. Built to exceptional standards
Kia cars are built according to the highest automotive industry manufacturing standards. It’s this exceptional quality that gives Kia the confidence to offer the longest new car cover in Europe.
2. 7-year warranty as standard
Kia is unique in Europe for offering a full 7-year warranty across the entire range - included at no extra cost. Unlike many competitors, this isn’t an optional add-on; it comes as standard with every new Kia.
3. Transferable peace of mind
The Kia warranty stays with the car, not the owner. This means that even if you sell your vehicle, the remaining cover passes on to the next owner - enhancing reassurance and value.
4. Lower running costs and stronger resale value
With such extensive warranty cover, you can enjoy reduced maintenance concerns and potentially higher resale value compared to many other vehicles on the market.
5. Europe-wide cover
Wherever your journey takes you in Europe, your warranty remains valid. In the unlikely event of a claim, both parts and labour are covered, giving you complete confidence on the road.

Is the battery covered under a car warranty?
A car battery is regarded as a consumable item, meaning it is subject to gradual wear and tear, and may only be covered by a warranty for a limited time. Battery cover periods can vary significantly between manufacturers, so it's an important detail to check when purchasing a new vehicle.
Kia's 7-year car warranty does include coverage for 12V and 48V batteries but only for the first 24 months from the date of registration. In contrast, the high voltage battery in an electric vehicle is protected by a separate 8-year or 100,000 mile warranty, providing long-term reassurance for EV drivers.
