History of Sandown

The Sandown Group is privately owned by the McAllister family, originally routed from Sandown Motors, established in South Africa in 1982. 

The focus was on Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and commercial vehicle franchises, as well as all of the other Daimler brands, Sandown Motors grew to become the largest Mercedes-Benz retailer in South Africa. 

With the phenomenal growth of the company, Sandown Group moved to the UK in 2006 and now represents the Mercedes-Benz and smart brands in two Market Areas and across six retailers in the south of England. 

With over 30 years of experience selling and servicing Mercedes-Benz means we can genuinely call ourselves experts in this iconic brand. Our simple goal is to continue to deliver award-winning service from each of our sites in Guildford, Basingstoke, Poole, Dorchester, Salisbury and Hindhead.

It’s not every day that you buy a new car, so we promise we’ll do our utmost to ensure the experience you have, matches the enjoyment you’ll get from our stunning range of cars.  

This promise extends to our aftersales service through the very latest My ServiceTM  offering which provides maximum flexibility to suit your specific needs (and if you choose to wait, our coffee is pretty special too!) We also have programmes designed to suit all types of customer, for example our ‘Sandown Platinum’ programmes, which provides significant servicing discounts for owners of more ‘mature’ Mercedes-Benz cars.

 Sandown Anti-Spam Policy

 What is spam? 

In the context of electronic messaging, spam refers to unsolicited, bulk or indiscriminate messages, typically sent for a commercial purpose. Sandown has a zero-tolerance spam policy. 

Automated spam filtering 

Sandown’s messaging systems automatically scan all incoming email [and other] messages, and filter-out messages that appear to be spam.

 Problems with spam filtering

 No message filtering system is 100% accurate, and from time to time legitimate messages will be filtered-out by Sandown systems.  If you believe this has happened to a message you have sent, please advise the message recipient by another means. You can reduce the risk of a message being caught by the spam filters by sending the message in plain text (i.e. no HTML), removing any attachments, and ensuring that your messages are scanned for malware before dispatch. 

User spam 

Sandown provides a facility that enables users to send [email messages / private messages] to others. Users must not use this facility to send unsolicited, bulk or indiscriminate messages, whether or not for a commercial purposes. 

Receipt of unwanted messages from Sandown 

In the unlikely event that you receive any message from Sandown or sent using Sandown’s systems that may be considered to be spam, please contact Sandown using the details below and the matter will be investigated. 

Changes to this anti-spam policy 

Sandown may amend this anti-spam policy at any time by publishing a new version on this website.

*Terms and conditions apply. The ‘Refer A Friend’ scheme applies to all new sales customers that have been recommended to the Sandown Group by an existing customer. To be eligible for this scheme the customer must not already exist on the Sandown Group database prior to recommendation. Referee will receive up to £500 off their new vehicle, depending on model. Discount only applicable when purchasing a Mercedes-Benz or smart vehicle from the Sandown Group. This offer is not available in conjunction with any other. Referral voucher must be presented to the sales team at first visit in order to redeem offer.
