20 Years of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Exactly 20 years ago, Mercedes-Benz revealed the product version A-Class at the Geneva Motor Show, entitled “Vision A 93’.
The product version A-Class matched the spaciousness level of the exemplary Mercedes-Benz E-Class.  This was down to the restraint systems and unique design elements within the A-Class. The A-Class had the load capacity of a large estate car and an easily accessible low boot. The A-Class caused quite a sensation due to the combination of high standard safety and pure design

The “Vision A 93” received a face lift throughout 2001 that included numerous modifications and updates. An extension of 170 millimeters was added, larger tailgate option and the short crumple zones were incorporated into the overall design.
The second generation of the A-Class was launched in spring 2004, it was available in both four door and two door versions. Systematic expansion of the range resulted in the creation of a model family.

20 years on, the A-Class is athletic from the ground up. The sporty exterior of the A-Class has redefined the modern hatchback and created a vehicle with unmistakable presence.

The A-Class ensures every journey is as satisfying as the last with luxury leather seats as standard. To raise the level of ease, selected models offer the optional Exclusive package, complete with four-way lumbar support, black seat belts and a choice of full leather upholsteries and trims.

With our world becoming increasingly interconnected by technology, it seems obvious that our cars A-Class should be too.

The A-Class offers a range of specially developed petrol and diesel engines, each blending impressive power with remarkable efficiency. All feature energy saving measures such as ECO start / stop technology and CO2 emissions are as low as 89 g/km.
