During the upcoming motor show in Paris, Mercedes-Benz are expected to reveal their first ever electric SUV concept!

The annual motor show in Paris is one of the larger shows in the industry, if not the biggest! The show has welcomed over 1.25 Million visitors over time and has seen 65 world premieres feature at the global show. With this in mind, it seems the ideal venue to unveil to the world such an eagerly anticipated vehicle for Mercedes-Benz. The launch of a new electric vehicle could add weight to the belief that Mercedes-Benz may make a push towards joining Formula E in the not too distant future!
What will it look like?
The short answer, we don’t know yet. The Mercedes-Benz exhibition in Paris will likely reveal a concept design. As it will be a completely new model it’s likely to be uniquely styled beyond the style of the existing range. There could be common links with the Mercedes-Benz GLC (pictured) however we will only know more information, closer to the occasion, although sources in the industry suggest this new vehicle will a new design language for an entire new electric vehicle range.
Where can I see it?
The motor show is hosted at Paris Porte de Versailles, Exhibition Centre in France. The doors open to the public from 1st October until 16th October, 2016. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on the Sandown Group blog. Information will be posted here as we get it!
When will it be available?
Should the news ring true that a new concept is in the pipeline, the new fully electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz is likely to be introduced during 2019, so still a fair way to go until we have something on the forecourt. The concept is likely to be revealed during the Paris motor show in October 2016, although more information may come to light prior to the event.
What electric vehicles are available now from Mercedes-Benz?
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class is currently the only model available as a fully electric vehicle, the B-Class leads the way in the compact class and forms Mercedes-Benz’s offering from within the hatchback market.
