German tuning company Brabus have worked their magic on the smart car range to create blistering hot new versions.

Under the bonnet of the new models you’ll find a feisty update to the standard three-cylinder engine, offering a total of 108bhp and 125lb ft of torque, an additional 20bhp and 25lb ft on the standard version. To enhance performance, the cars also have 20% stiffer suspension, retuned stability control and steering systems, faster response time and shorter-legged transmission ratios. There’s also a host of aesthetic changes, like Brabus wheels with sporty Yokohama tyres and a fancy new interior.

All three smart car models will benefit from the spicy upgrade: that’s the smart fortwo coupé, smart fortwo cabrio and smart forfour. The fortwo Brabus promises to offer 0-62mph in 9.5 seconds while still returning a frugal 62.8mpg.
The Smart Brabus range first showed its face at the Beijing Motor Show and is set to go on sale across the UK in July. To find out more about the range, get in touch with the team at Sandown smart – we can share full details and let you know how to place your order.
