IMAX Enhanced® Films rolling out to Mercedes-Benz vehicles

An immersive in-car entertainment experience is coming...
‘RIDEVU’, Sony’s in-car entertainment service will be available in Mercedes-Benz vehicles that feature the latest generation of MBUX this summer. Presenting its users with IMAX Enhanced content from Sony Pictures’ library.
The introduction of this service brings along an immersive in-car entertainment experience, like never before. Featuring films like ‘‘Venom: The Last Dance’, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘Uncharted’. IMAX Enhanced is the closest experience to being in the theatre, users will benefit from IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio (EAR), IMAX’s proprietary DMR process and DTS:X sound, available in multiple dubbed languages.
This service will be available in the United Kingdom, US, Japan, Ireland are Germany. Alongside the films mentioned above, you will be offered access to thousands of movies to buy, rent or stream. Using ‘RIDEVU’, you can enjoy hours of entertainment on the built-in screens featured in your Mercedes-Benz. The Screen Manager can easily be used to control playback across all screens. These films can be viewed by the driver (whilst parked) and front/rear passengers.
This collaboration features three entertainment pioneers, IMAX, Sony Pictures Entertainment and DTS. “By delivering IMAX Enhanced content through RIDEVU, we are showcasing what is possible as we push the boundaries of content and audio delivery in the car starting in Mercedes-Benz models later this year.” Said Pete Wood, SVP, digital sales, distribution, Sony Pictures Entertainment.
