Here at Sandown, we are proud to support a number of technician apprentices in developing their careers through the achievement and recognised qualification, whilst gaining hands on experience in a real work environment.

We currently have 27 apprentices within the group, and this year Sandown have recruited new apprentices at all sites! We are excited to welcome new starters as they start their journey at Sandown.

The apprentices are studying towards Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician level 3 qualification. They attend college on a block release basis and learn on the job with us during their time in the workshops, as well as learning alongside a technician mentor. Once fully qualified, apprentices may have the opportunity to join on a permanent basis as a Mercedes-Benz approved technician and further their career in the motor industry.

One of our Apprentices' at Mercedes-Benz of Hindhead, Toby Armstrong, spoke to us about his experience so far:

Tell us a bit about your apprenticeship

My apprenticeship is for a Motor Vehicle Technician and the course is set for three years.

What is your favourite thing about your apprenticeship?

Hopefully I will expand my knowledge in the ever changing Motor Vehicle Industry, from conventional Mechanical Engines both Diesel and Petrol to the up and coming world of Electric propelled vehicles.

What is one thing you are proud of during your apprenticeship?

It has been great learning about such a luxury product like Mercedes Benz, and I am extremely proud to say I have managed to complete my Apprenticeship this month (August 2022). It has been a great journey throughout the three years.
