Representing the highlight of Mercedes-AMG's 50th anniversary, the Mercedes-AMG Project One was revealed at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt.

Hailed as the "first Formula 1 car with MOT approval'', Project One boast a 1.6-litre V6 hybrid petrol engine taken directly from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 racing car. This, along with the electrical power unit will produce over 1,000 hp and reach speeds beyond 350km/h.

No sacrifice has been made in the design of the vehicle with elements taken from both the motorsport division and automotive sector. This includes an all new automated 8-speed manual transmission, exclusive forged wheels with innovative carbon-fibre semi-covers and a Formula 1-style steering wheel.

Although the Project One represents the pinnacle of performance, the technology developed through this is aimed to be applied into future series production AMG cars.
