Mercedes-Benz Dashboard Lights: What Do They Mean?

Your Mercedes-Benz is equipped with intelligent systems designed to keep you informed and safe. One of the most important features is the dashboard warning light system. Each symbol has a specific meaning, and understanding them can help you respond quickly and confidently.

Red Warning Lights: Immediate Action Required

Brake System Warning may signal low brake fluid or a fault in the braking system.
Engine Overheating means the engine temperature is too high and should be addressed immediately.
Airbag Fault suggests a problem with the airbag system that could affect safety.

Amber or Yellow Warning Lights: Caution Advised

These lights indicate potential issues that should be checked soon.
Check Engine Light can range from a minor fault to something more serious.
Tyre Pressure Warning means one or more tyres may be under-inflated.
ESP or BAS Light signals a fault with the Electronic Stability Program or Brake Assist system.

Green or Blue Lights: Information Only

These lights are purely informational and do not require action.
High Beam Indicator shows that high beams are active.
Cruise Control Active confirms cruise control is engaged.
Turn Signal Indicators flash when indicators are in use.

What Should You Do?

If a warning light appears, refer to your owner’s manual for guidance. If the light stays on or flashes, it’s best to book a diagnostic check with your local Sandown Mercedes-Benz retailer. Our expert technicians are here to help keep your vehicle performing at its best.
