Mercedes-AMG have revealed to the world the latest addition to the premium C-Class drop top range. Two versions have been announced, the C 63 and vastly more powerful C 63 S, with both featuring the 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 from the C-Class saloon. The C 63 Cabriolet will likely reach showrooms around August this year, just in time to enjoy the summer.

The Core Specifications

The C 63 Cabriolet Specifications

The new C 63 cabriolet will be as capable as expected boasting 469bhp, this equates to a pulse-pausing 0-62mph in 4.2sec. For the statistic hungry, you’ll enjoy 479lb ft of torque. The overall weight of the new vehicle, with an average driver, fuel and luggage is 1910kg. The top speed is limited to a satisfying 155mph.

The C 63 S Cabriolet Specifications

The C 63 S variant as you’d expect, showcases the greater level of power. The S version exhibits 503bhp, which is teetering on supercar territory and a face-twisting 516lb ft of torque. The C 63 Cabriolet is slightly heavier with a kerbweight of 1925kg. Mercedes-AMG have shaved off 0.1 second off the 0-62mph bringing it down to 4.1 seconds from 4.2 seconds for the standard C 63 Cabriolet. The C 63 S, like the C 63, is also limited to 155mph.

What Features?

The elegant sportiness continues in this brand new model, featuring flared arches and a sharp and sporty bodykit. The standard setup includes 18-inch AMG wheels, a front splitter to reduce front lift and a rear spoiler to deflect air into the intakes. The AMG C 63 cabriolet parades a folding fabric roof instead of the metal equivalents used in other AMG cabriolets. The interior cabin resembles a similar setup to the C-Class Coupe, with the same dash mounted screen and Artico hand-made seats. Buyers of the new C 63 cabriolet can choose to add the ‘Airscarf’ neck-level heating system that we’ve seen available with previous Mercedes cabrios. Finally the boot, you’ll enjoy a 355-litre boot with the roof up, and 260-litres with the roof down.
