New JAECOO 5 Vehicle Strengthens Specialist Healthcare for People Experiencing Homelessness Across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP)

HealthBus Trust has officially launched its new branded JAECOO 5 outreach vehicle following a successful event hosted by Sandown JAECOO Poole on Thursday 20 August.

HealthBus Chairman Christopher Wakefield, Chief Executive Deano Pickering, Chief Operations Officer Kate Hibbitt, Business Relations Manager Tim Partridge and an Outreach Nurse were welcomed by the Sandown Poole team, led by Craig Clapham, Head of Business at Sandown Poole. Ian Girling, Chief Executive of Dorset Chamber, also attended to celebrate the collaboration between two Chamber members.

The newly branded vehicle will support HealthBus clinicians delivering specialist outreach healthcare to people experiencing homelessness and severe exclusion across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. It will enable the team to reach individuals who face significant barriers to accessing mainstream healthcare and to provide care directly within the community.

Christopher Wakefield, Chairman of HealthBus Trust, said:

“I am delighted that, as fellow Dorset Chamber members, an organisation such as Sandown Poole has chosen to partner and collaborate with our charity. Their support enables us to continue bringing much-needed specialist care and compassion to the people we serve. Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to everyone at Sandown Poole. We are incredibly grateful for them standing alongside HealthBus and sponsoring this new vehicle.”

Deano Pickering, Chief Executive of HealthBus Trust, added:

“This partnership demonstrates what can be achieved with bucketloads of compassion, empathy and determination, combined with a little resource. This is not a vehicle for a vehicle’s sake; it is an opportunity for us to change and save lives.”

He continued:

“The Sandown team’s attitude throughout has consistently been, ‘How can we make this happen?’ That spirit of partnership has meant an enormous amount to us. This vehicle will help our clinicians take healthcare directly to people who need us most, and we look forward to sharing the impact it will make across our community.” HealthBus expressed its sincere appreciation to Craig Clapham and the entire Sandown JAECOO Poole team for their hospitality, generosity and commitment to supporting specialist homeless healthcare across BCP.

The HealthBus Trust, a CQC-registered, award-winning charity, operates 3–4 days a week, providing essential healthcare, mental health support, chronic disease management, and social prescribing to people without stable accommodation.
