The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the all-new GT 4‑Door Coupé, marking a bold move into the electric era without losing the brand’s trademark performance edge.

This is not a subtle step forward. The flagship GT 63 produces up to 1,169 hp and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.1 seconds, with a top speed of 186 mph when fitted with the Driver’s Package. The GT 55 still delivers serious pace, with up to 816 hp and 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds. These are supercar figures, now delivered in a fully electric four-door.

At the heart of the car is something completely new. Instead of conventional electric motors, Mercedes-AMG has introduced a three-motor setup using axial flux technology. Two motors sit at the rear and one at the front, creating fully variable all-wheel drive and allowing the car to deliver its performance repeatedly without drop-off. It is designed to stay fast, not just feel fast once.

Charging is just as impressive. With up to 600 kW capability, the GT can add around 285 miles of range in roughly 10 minutes, while a 10 to 80 percent charge takes about 11 minutes. Total range is expected to reach up to 430 miles, making it just as usable for long journeys as it is for performance driving.

Even though it is electric, AMG has worked hard to keep the emotional connection. A specially developed sound system recreates a V8-inspired soundtrack, paired with simulated gear changes to bring back a sense of drama behind the wheel. It is designed to feel engaging and familiar, rather than clinical.

On the road, the car brings together advanced suspension, rear axle steering and torque vectoring to balance agility with stability. It can feel sharp and responsive in corners while remaining composed at higher speeds. Drivers also have the ability to fine-tune the setup through AMG’s driving controls, adapting the car to suit different moods or conditions.

The design reflects its performance. A low stance, wide body and fastback silhouette give it real presence, while details like the illuminated grille and sharp lighting signature underline its modern, high-tech character. Inside, the focus is clean and driver-led, blending large digital displays with a sporty, premium finish.

The unique Mercedes-AMG® logo has two halves. The left half is the coat of arms of Affalterbach, Germany, the home of AMG. The right half shows a cam, a valve and a valve spring, symbolising the high-performance and quality engineering behind every AMG design.

Production is set to begin in summer 2026, but the message is already clear. This is AMG proving that electric performance can still feel exciting, fast and unmistakably theirs.
