What is the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH)?
The Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) is Chery’s advanced self-charging hybrid system. The system combines a 1.5litre four cylinder petrol engine with a high-output electric motor, fed by a 1.83kWh battery. Together the system pushes out a combined 204 bhp and delivers a quick 0-62 mph time of 8.9 seconds.
Instead of a traditional gearbox, power is routed through a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), which coordinates how the power sources interact.
Around Town: The electric motor handles low-speed driving on its own. This gives you instant electric acceleration and uses zero petrol in stop-start traffic.
On the Open Road: The petrol engine smoothly blends in alongside the electric motor, giving you plenty of punch for pulling onto roundabouts or overtaking.
Braking & Coasting: Every time you slow down or step on the brake, the system recovers the energy and converts it to recharge the battery, which is what limits the need for plug-in charging cables.
