How to become a mechanic

The most effective way to kick‑start your career in the automotive industry is with a Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship - the most practical, hands‑on route to becoming a fully qualified mechanic. This immersive training pathway lets you earn, learn and develop real workshop skills from day one.

Most aspiring Vehicle Technicians begin with a Level 2 Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship, combining hands‑on experience in our state‑of‑the‑art workshop with expert-led training at college. It’s the perfect introduction to core mechanical skills, diagnostics and vehicle maintenance.

Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll progress to a Level 3 Apprenticeship, where you’ll advance your knowledge, work on more complex systems and move closer to becoming a fully qualified Vehicle Technician.
