Arriving around this time next year the Mercedes X-Class will land Mercedes at the top of the premium pick-up market.

The Mercedes X-Class will feature a stylish and refined 5-seater double cab. Boosting brushed metal and carbon surfaces and leather upholstery we can see why this new model has been labelled as a premium pick-up. The infotainment system will be controlled by the Mercedes’ touchpad interface and will even include a built-in mobile SIM card that will allow owners to locate and check on their vehicle via an app.

Mercedes X-Class engine specifications

There are still some final details to be released for this model but here is what we know. There will be a number of models available. Firstly a permanent four-wheel drive system with a low-range gearbox. There will also be an alternative model that is switchable between all-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive. The top of the range Mercedes X-Class model will have a V6 diesel engine. There may also be a 4-cylinder petrol model available to some markets, we’ll know more when the final specifications are released.

Mercedes X-Class towing capabilities

The new model will be able to tow up to 3,500kg and has a payload of up to 1,200kg. Even when towing or carrying these loads Mercedes have promised a comfortable ride with precise steering.

Safety specifications

The Mercedes X-Class will feature a range of advanced driver assistance systems such as Automatic Emergency Braking and a 360 degree reversing camera. If you are interested in this premium pick-up model then look out for the final specifications and official launch dates soon.
